Update... a few months worth... oops...

Once again I have failed to blog for awhile... darn it! Maybe one day I will actually keep up with things! A lot has happened since the last post...
Lets see here...
August involved lots of fishin and hangin out on the water! Ben bought a boat so that was lots of fun! One of the fishing trips involved us getting caught in a storm on the beach... not so fun!

Oh and we went to an amusement park in Charolette with some friends! I rode some rides, but being the chicken that I am, only rode one roller coaster.

In September the adventures continued! We went to Asheville and saw several beautiful waterfalls! It was a lot of work getting to see some of them! Hiking wore us out!

We had some get togethers and went fishing some more (happens a lot around here!).

I got to come home at the end of September for my cousins wedding! I had a lot of fun the first week I was home. Got to see lots of people, go shopping, go dancin, visit my old job, and more!

I even got to go to a Cardinals game with my dad and my uncle Doug! We won and a lot of fun together! My family got together to eat at Golden Corral and it was great to see and talk to everyone. Unfortunately my week ended horribly. My beloved uncle Doug had an aortic rupture and passed away suddenly on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the age of 59. I miss him terribly and my family is forever changed. That was 4 weeks ago today. :'( I am just so thankful for the time we had with him and for being able to spend time with him before he died. God was preparing us and we didn't even know it. I love you Doug and will always remember you.

Since getting back to NC things have been sorta normal. We are both working and spending time together when we can. Nic is supposed to go to Japan in Janurary, but we really don't know any details yet. Halloween was alright. We only had 2 trick or treaters.. lame! But we had a party the week before and that was fun! I dressed up and a couple friends came over and one of them scared us half to death!

Thats all for now! Woohoo!

Oh but we are getting ready for the Marine Corps Ball on Nov. 16! And we are coming home for Christmas!

Happenings Here in NC

So I was informed that I am failing to blog again... oops!  Not a lot has happened around here lately. We still have not found a church home :( so the search continues. Nic left for California for 3.5 weeks on Wednesday :'( It is no fun being here alone (ok w the furry one, but no humans) and I am beyond ready for him to come home. It is way too quiet here! A couple of our friends have gone back home or will this week so thats pooey and I shall miss them bunches. Jackie had surgery on Wednesday and is sore but doing ok. I am def continuing to pray for her recovery. It has been raining a lot here! At least once a week we get a downpour! If I could send some of that rain back home I totally would! Nicki and John are getting married September 29! Yays! So I plan on coming home to go to their wedding and stay for a week or so! I am super excited! Hopefully I will get to see everyone!

Update! Long time coming!

I can't believe it is already June! A lot has happened already this year! March 3 Nic and I got married!!! It was a wonderful day filled with family, friends, and fun. We really enjoyed the day and everyone else says they did too! The wedding was a long time coming and turned out fantastic! After the wedding we had a short honeymoon to Herman, MO. We stayed in a nice bed and breakfast, visited wineries and historic sites, and shoped at local shops! We had a lot of fun! Then we had to come home and pack everything to move. Time flew by from Nic arriving, to us getting married, to honeymoon, and moving away. We then drove all the way to Cherry Point, NC in our lovely moving truck with the car and the cat. Pheonix wasn't too fond of all that driving, but didn't do too bad. It was a lot of work, but also fun moving into our house. I really enjoyed decorating everything! We made more trips to Wal-Mart than either of us care to count! We have now been here almost 3 months and really like our house!

In April Nic's mom came to visit for a week! We took her to several spots and had a lot of fun. We went to Shackleford Island and got lots of shells and saw wild horses. We visited historic Ft. Macon, walked on a few beaches, saw pretty downtown shops, went fishing off the pier, and more! Anne and Nic redid the flowers and it turned out really pretty! I now have roses!

My parents came to visit for my birthday/memorial day weekend! We had a lot of fun and time flew by. We went to Ft. Macon, Atlantic beach, Virginia beach and Jacksonville. We drove across the Chesapeake Bay bridge, went to lighthouses at Ft. Story, and more! Dad and Nic enjoyed fishing and mom and I enjoyed walking along the beach!

Laura and Kenneth are supposed to come visit in August and we are exctied! We love having visitors! We can't wait for more visits from everyone and hope to be able to come home to visit soon!

As far as Nic and I and how things are... Things are great! We are really enjoying being married! It is definatley hard being away from home, but we love being so close to the beach. Nic works crazy hours sometimes, which is no fun! I just started at O'Reilly Auto Parts (I know... again? but true...) and so far I really like it! We have been attending a really big church, but still aren't sure if it's where we are supposed to be. Last week we tried a new church and we are going to go back again this week. Hopefully soon we will find our church home!
